  • The Women's Grievance Cell at Guru Kashi University is a dedicated platform committed to ensuring the welfare and empowerment of women within the university campus. Our cell offers a safe space for women to voice their concerns, seek support, and address grievances related to harassment, discrimination, or any form of injustice. Through confidential and impartial procedures, we aim to investigate complaints, provide necessary assistance, and facilitate resolution while upholding principles of fairness and equality.
  • Objectives

  • To raise awareness about women's rights, gender equality, and issues related to harassment and discrimination through workshops, seminars, and educational programs.
  • To work towards preventing instances of harassment, discrimination, and violence against women by promoting a culture of respect, sensitivity, and accountability.
  • To provide a safe and confidential platform for women to report grievances without fear of retaliation or victimization.
  • To investigate complaints of harassment or discrimination in a fair, impartial, and timely manner, and take appropriate disciplinary or corrective action against perpetrators.
  • To foster a culture of respect, equality, and inclusivity where every individual is treated with dignity and where harassment, discrimination, and violence are not tolerated.
  • Functions of the Women's Grievance Cell

  • The Women`s Grievance Cell has been assigned several important functions and responsibilities, which are crucial for creating a gender-sensitive and safe environment on campus.
  • The Women`s Cell is responsible for sensitizing the community about gender-related issues. This includes educating and raising awareness among students, faculty, and staff about gender sensitivity.
  • They are tasked with conducting orientation programs for new students and employees. These programs likely focus on gender equality, respectful behavior, and understanding the rights and responsibilities under the law.
  • The Cell suggests measures to ensure a safe working environment for women on campus. They also recommend actions to prevent acts of sexual harassment or gender discrimination.
  • Organizing workshops and awareness programs regularly is another responsibility. These sessions aim to educate the campus community about the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act of 2013.
  • The Women`s Cell provides advice and guidance to women who may have faced harassment or discrimination on campus. They advise on available courses of action and support mechanisms.
  • They undertake any other responsibilities assigned to them by the institute.
